The name ‘Bobby Scheme’ reflects the fact that two organisations were primarily responsible for its creation – Cambridgeshire Constabulary and The Office of High Sheriff.  The Bobby Scheme was established in 2001 by the Cambridgeshire Police Shrievalty Trust.

Its aim is to reduce crime and fear of crime in older, vulnerable and disabled people across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, thereby improving their quality of life, increased independence and safety.

The Cambridgeshire Bobby Scheme, now in its eighteenth year, has helped in excess of 31,000 older, vulnerable and disabled people who are either the victims of burglary and other crimes, or who are concerned about home and personal security. We secure the homes of these people with security devices and alarms.

The service, which is run by a highly experienced police-vetted and DBS-checked team, is free to victims over 60 and to ALL suffering domestic violence.
